In the past months I am working hard on my PhD, I just finished rewriting two main PhD chapters, one on puzzle games that was just too long and boring and a new one mainly about Bubble Town. Bubble Town was an excellent case study as it is a huge success as a free game and as a mobile game, it has versions on most of the major platforms including: iPhone, Facebook, Android etc and it was developed by Oberon Media which I know a few people there who were generous enough to allow me to interview them. I even lectured about the chapter as a guest lecturer in Beit Berl. The chapter turned out very nice, completely different from the lecture, mostly because I learned a thing or two from the time I gave the lecture till now. I’ll put the chapter here after my Moderator will review it.
I just started to work on a new chapter, hopefully it will be a short technological overview on video games history. I hope I will keep my pace from the past months and finish a draft of the whole PhD in January.
