About Me

My name is Dudi Peles, I like video games.

As I think people in general should occupy themselves with what they like, I occupy myself with video games and interactive technologies.

I think games and video games in particular are a cultural phenomenon that isn’t getting the attention it deserves, especially not in Israel.

In 2004 I founded (with two amazing partners) a software startup developing casual games infrastructure .In 2007 we opened a game development studio inside the company (led by two other amazing partners). As I am mostly occupied in business development these days, I still try to do some game design and development as part of my job.

I started getting involved in the local games industry, trying as much as I can to contribute to its development. And currently I’m even incharge of the annual GameIS Awards.

I have a first degree in computer science, psychology and philosophy and a second degree in Science, Technology & Society.

I am a PhD student in the Science, Technology & Society program in Bar Ilan University researching video games history. I am currently head of the video games research forum in STS@BIU (a group of researchers in Israel meeting once a month discussing video games research).

I teach about video games history in a course called “Introduction to Games Video for Designers” at Shenkar College of Engineering and Design and a video games development course called “Games Development in Action Script 3.0″ at the Midrasha School of Art, Beit Berl Academic College

And of course I play…
